It takes about a week. First, the ramps and fences go up. Then the bundles of folding chairs appear. The stage and video screens go up next. Finally, the chairs open in ordered rows. Security personell watch over them day and night. Late in the afternoons, students and parents take photos around the Rotunda. Horn players practice a fanfare. On Saturday, several thousand graduates will march down The Lawn, and thousands more parents and family members will celebrate. Everyone hopes for a perfect morning in May.
