

Panoramas in the Woods: End of Winter
There wasn't much snow this winter, which is normal, but the winter took its toll on the landscape. Downed trees and detritus litter the woods. It's a brown wasteland with log jams in the creek. The trails are mud, and the edges of the creek are caving in. The kudzu is piled in heaps, and the hedges are flat. More Development, Development Everywhere
Apartments are not the only things going up when the trees come down. There is a new women's center by the apartments. But it's the same routine - some forest comes down, a building goes up, and the place is less human and more crowded. When the results of the 2020 census come out, it will be interesting to see how much the population has grown in the last 10 years around the homestead.
