A Walk Around The Lawn - Solar Eclipse 2017

In Charlottesville, it rained on the day of the solar eclipse, August 21, 2017. By the time the clouds parted over The Lawn, the eclipse was well under way. At this latitude, it was a partial eclipse. It appeared to max out at about 50% coverage of the sun. The sunshine was bright, but eerie. Greens looked especially dark and saturated, and very wet. A few hundred scattered people watched from all around The Lawn. The crowd thinned quickly after the maximum. The next partial eclipse over The Lawn should occur on June 10, 2021.

Gear Photos were shot with a Nikon D750 paired with a Zeiss Milvus 35 mm f/2.0.
